Hamilton Twp. Man Wanted on Drugs, Weapons Charges

A Hamilton Township man wanted on drugs and weapons charges, following the execution of two search warrants at two township addresses on April 2nd, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs Guns and Narcotics Unit, Hamilton Township Police Department and the Atlantic County Regional SWAT Team executed two search warrants in Hamilton Township. The execution of these search warrants was in response to an investigation initiated by the Prosecutor’s Office’s Drug Related Death Unit.

Information was obtained that the target of this investigation, Shawn Cunningham, was distributing heroin and fentanyl throughout Atlantic County. As a result of this investigation, search warrants were executed on Apr. 2nd at 6000 block of Hoover Drive and 900 block of Catherine Court.

The following items were recovered as a result of this investigation:

* 650 wax folds of suspected fentanyl/heroin

* Semi-automatic handgun with high capacity 30 round magazine

* .38 special revolver handgun

* Ammunition

* Approximately 6 pounds of marijuana

 

Subsequently, police charged Cunningham with Possession of Heroin/fentanyl, Distribution of Heroin/fentanyl,

Certain persons not to have weapons,

Failure to obtain permit for a weapon,

Possessing a firearm while committing certain drug crimes, Possession with the Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Possession of a large/high Capacity Magazine.

According to police, Cunningham has not been located at the time of this press release and warrants have been issued for his arrest.

These charges are merely an accusation and not proof of guilt. In all criminal cases, a charged defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
