There were no serious injuries reported in a car chase that resulted in a crash of a carjacked vehicle early this morning in Newark's East Ward.
Police began to follow a vehicle at around 2 a.m. that was reported carjacked from a neighborhood in Newark when the driver ignored officer's lights and sirens and sped off.
Authorities say officers followed the vehicle to the 700 block of Wilson Avenue where the car lost control and crashed into a pole.
Police took at least one person into custody immediately after the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
