A vehicle refusing to stop for police in Newark, plowed into a vehicle on University Ave. and Market Street injuring two people shortly before 9:30a.m.
First responders rushed to the scene to rescue two victims trapped in the vehicle after the suspect's vehicle made collision, pushing the victim's vehicle against a medal gate just outside of an office building. The injured were taken to University Hospital in serious condition.
Police begin to follow the vehicle in the area of Irvine Turner Boulevard and Springfield Ave. when the vehicle sped off towards the downtown. Police apprehended the suspects shortly after the crash. University Ave. at West Market Street is closed for an accident investigation.
The crash is under investigation by Newark Police.
