Police have Springfield Avenue between Bergen Street and Fairmount Avenue closed for an investigation after a crash that involved a motorcycle sent a seriously injured person to the hospital this evening.
The crash happening before 6:05 p.m. near the intersection of Springfield and Fairmount avenues (accoss from Cityplex) sending emergency responders to the scene where they found the victim critically injured.
EMS transported the unidentified person the short distance to University Hospital while detectives back at the crime scene requested assistance from the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.
The cause of the crash has not been determined.
