Firefighters extinguished a raging fire that ignited a truck on Rt. 3 in Rutherford this afternoon.
Crews were called to the westbound lanes of the highway near the Rt. 21 exit ramp for a vehicle fire at around 2:30 p.m.
Upon arrival to the scene, firefighters observed a fully engulfed trailer on the right side of the highway. The trailer was reportedly carrying food products.
The fire was brought under control in several minute with damage to a sound barrier.
Police closed the westbound lanes for ermergency vehicles.
There were no serious injuries reported.
