Newark – Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose announced today that the Newark Police Department and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force are investigating a fatal shooting.
According to authorities, at approximately 3:41 a.m. today Quinzel Ward, 31, of Irvington was fatally shot in the 100 block of Court Street in Newark.
Authorities said he was pronounced dead at the scene at 4 a.m.
At this time the investigation is active and ongoing authorities said.
No arrests have been made and no suspects have been identified.
