An overnight car crash in Newark's North Ward is under investigation.
The crash happened near the intersection of Heller Parkway and Highland Avenue shortly before 12:45 p.m. sending emergency responders to the scene where they found a minivan crashed into a utility pole at that location.
The occupant was self-extricated and did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
A preliminary investigation indicated that the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck the pole.
The official cause of the crash is under investigation.
