Authorities are Irvington are investigating a stabbing that happened overnight.
Newark Police was made aware of the incident that occurred in the 400 block of Avon Avenue where police were called to the scene for reports of an injured person.
Units arrived at the scene where they located a person in a house suffering a stab injury according to reports.
The victim reported to authorities that they were stabbed by an unidentified assailant on 21st Street.
The victim's injuries were no immediately reported as life threatening.
The incident remains under investigation.
