Essex Vicinage will host an expungement seminar on Thursday, Dec. 1 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the J. Harry Smith Lecture Hall, Essex County College, 303 University Ave., Newark.
Topics will include the process for expunging a criminal and/or juvenile record, the types of records that can be expunged, the time requirements for an expungement, how to file for an expungement and what happens after an expungement is granted.
The seminar will be conducted by the vicinage’s Advisory Committee on Minority Concerns.
Representatives from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, Volunteer Lawyers for Justice, Essex-Newark Legal Services and the Judiciary will assist.
A Spanish interpreter will be available.
