Georgia Man Among Eight Arrested in Newark Prostitution Sting

A prostitution sting in Newark had police arrest eight suspects for solicitation according to authorities.

In response to prostitution complaints by area residents, Newark Police arrested eight men for prostitution related charges in the area of Mulberry and Scott Streets to Orchard and Camp Streets police said.

Eight males, who were seeking sex for money from an undercover police officer that they mistakenly thought was a male prostitute, were arrested and charged with Soliciting Prostitution.

The operation started shortly before midnight and ended early this morning.

The arrested are: Zyquan Twitty, 19, of Newark; Nasir Edney, 23, of Atlanta, GA; Siyah Bryant, 27, of Jersey City; Markus Dunn, 44, of East Orange; Jeremiah, 28, of East Orange; Ali Bey, 19, of Newark; Tyhien Hall, 20, of Newark and Daijon Bentley-Parker,18, of Elizabeth according to police.

Public Safety Director stated, “We will continue to respond to our citizen’s call for help to address criminal and quality of life concerns. These activities aren't tolerated in others communities and nobody should expect us to tolerate them here.”

These charges are merely accusations.

These suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
