Two Found Dead Inside Ventnor Home

Police are investigating the deaths today of a man and woman inside a Ventnor home, Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Diane Ruberton announced.

Ventnor City Police responded today shortly after 1:30 p.m. to a home on North Oxford Avenue, in response to a call to police to check on the well-being of the occupants.

Upon arrival, police found a man and woman dead from apparent gunshots.

Detectives of the Atlantic County Major Crimes Unit, members of the New Jersey Southern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office responded, as did an Atlantic County Nurse Pronouncer, who pronounced the deaths of the victims at the scene.

Autopsies are pending.

Law enforcement is withholding the victims’ identities, and providing no additional information until the next-of-kin are being notified.

Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Diane Ruberton said, “Preliminary investigation indicates that there is no continuing threat to the public stemming from this incident.”

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Ventnor City Police Department continue the investigation.
