The New Jersey Department of Children and Families were notified by police of a young child who was found wandering on a street in Newark.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the vicinity of 2nd Avenue and Broadway at approximately 11:15 p.m where they received information about a child that was observed in the area wandering.
Units arriving at the scene found the child and immediately contacted EMS to perform an evaluation. Police say the child did not appear physically injured.
The child was relocated with a short time later according to reports.
The incident remains under investigation.
