A violent crash on Route 80 in Saddle Brook has police investigating a fatality this morning.
Police and rescue crews rushed to the eastbound lanes of Route 80 near mile marker 63.4 at around 1:30 a.m. on reports of a crash with serious injuries.
First responders arriving to the scene located a badly damaged vehicle with at least one occupant trapped inside.
First responders and rescue crews used special tools to cut the victim out of the vehicle who was pronounced dead at the scene.
An initial investigation revealed that the victim of one of the vehicles were reportedly driving westbound in the eastbound lanes causing the collision.
State Police shut down several lanes on Route 80 at Rt. 62 for the crash investigation.
