Police in Elizabeth are investigating an overnight crash that had several cars damaged on a highway in the city.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the vicinity of 901 Spring Street -Route 1&9- to investigate reports of a car crash with injuries.
Upon their arrival at the scene, they observed about four cars damaged after a vehicle reportedly traveled northbound in the southbound lanes of the highway, striking the vehicles.
According to reports, at least one person was transported to Universty Hospital in serious but stable condition.
Police closed a portion of Route 1&9 for the crash investigation.
The investigation into the crash remains active and ongoing.
