Worker Burned in Newark Ironbound Warehouse

A worker inside a warehouse in Newark’s East Ward suffered burns during an incident Wednesday morning. 

According to preliminary information, Newark Firefighters responded to reports of a worksite fire at Bennett Heat Treating and Brazing Company 690 Ferry Street shortly before 4:45 a.m. 

Upon arrival, emergency repsonders found the individual suffering burns to his body caused by unconfirmed reasons inside the warehouse. 

The victim was transported to St. Barnabus Burn Center in Livingston for treatment and remained in stable condition. 

OSHA officials have been notified of the incident.
