Authorities have released the identity of a 23-year-old woman that was killed Sunday night after she collided with another vehicle on the Garden State Parkway.
According to police, Shannon Whooley, of the Fords section of Woodbridge, was heading north in the southbound lanes near milepost 128.7 in Woodbridge
sometime around 11 p.m. when she collided head-on with another vehicle.
Police said Whooley was pronounced dead at the scene while the other driver was hospitalized in serious condition.
Authorities are investigating the crash.
The crash closed the three right lanes on the Parkway for approximately three hours.
