Woodbridge Police Charge Youth Football Coach with Sexual Assault of Minor

Police in Woodbridge arrested and charged a youth football coach with aggravated sexual assault of a minor, after a complaint was filed

According to reports, 35-year-old Dawayne Avent, is currently being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Facility on $500,000 bail.

Avent allegedly "committed aggravated sexual assault by committing an act of sexual penetration" sometime in early July 2010.

Reports said that the minor was around the age of 14-years-old.

Avent was 1st vice president of Fords Youth Association, which is part of New Jersey American Youth Football but it is not clear exactly when and how long he held the position.

According to reports, Avent was arrested at his home yesterday.
