Woman Wanted for Spraying Chemical in Victim's Face During Verbal Altercation

Newark Police are looking for being aggravated assault suspect who attacked a woman on a Newark street last week.

According to police, Ms. Tamera Herd, 32, of Newark, is being sought for the incident that occurred on Wednesday, October 3rd.

Police say at approximately 4:30 p.m., police responded to the 500 block of Springfield Avenue where the victim reported that she had a verbal confrontation with the suspect.

According to the victim, the suspect then sprayed her with an unknown chemical to the face before running from the scene.

Police say the incident was captured on nearby surveillance cameras and detectives investigating the incident identified Herd as the suspect then obtained a warrant for her arrest issued on October 5th, 2018.

According to police, Herd is 4’11” tall, weighs 150 lbs. and has black hair and brown eyes.

This investigation is continuing.
