Woman Wanted for Breaking Into Cars in Newark's East Ward

Police in Newark issued two arrest warrants for Ms. Karee Williams, 40, in connection with two burglaries into automobiles on April 20th and today.

According to a statement released by police, between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. today, a victim’s vehicle, parked in the 100 block of Walnut Street, was broken into. 

Police said a wallet containing the victim’s ID and debit card was stolen.

The card was used at a Newark gas station before the victim canceled it.

Police also noted that between 6:45 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20th, a bookbag containing two black Lenovo laptops, Apple iPods, and a debit and credit card were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Delancey Street.

The victim’s debit card was used at three Newark businesses before the victim canceled it.

Detectives investigating these incidents have identified Williams as a suspect and obtained two warrants for her arrest.

Police seek the public’s help in quickly locating her as part of this investigation.

Williams is described as 5’10” tall and 160 pounds with a dark complexion, black hair and brown eyes.
