Woman Wanted for Attacking Bus Driver in Newark

Newark Police report that they are seeking the public’s help in identifying a female suspect in connection with an aggravated assault against an NJ Transit bus driver that occurred on Tuesday, September 29.

According to police, shortly before 3:40 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Park Place and Rector Street on a call of an aggravated assault.

Police report that a female passenger threw a liquid substance into the face of the bus driver before exiting the bus and throwing cans at the bus windshield. The woman also grabbed the bus windshield wiper, bending it.

The driver was transported to Saint Michael’s Medical Center for treatment.

Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in quickly identifying this suspect as part of their investigation.
