Police in Newark are searching for the driver of a vehicle that struck a woman in the city’s North Ward earlier today, then kept going.
It happened just before noon at the intersection of Broadway and Montclair Avenue.
Police say the driver of a Silver or Grey 4-door sedan slammed into the woman then fled the scene at a high rate of speed.
According to police, the vehicle was last seen heading north on Broadway.
The victim was transported to University Hospital in serious condition.
Police said the vehicle and driver remain at large.
