Woman Struck by Hit-and-Run Vehicle in Newark's North Ward


Police in Newark's North Ward are on the search for the driver of a car that mowed down a pedestrian in that section of the city Friday night.

According to preliminary reports, police were called to the vicinity of 234 Oraton Street to investigate reports of an injured person at approximately 8 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found an unidentified injured female after a vehicle struck her, then drove away according to reports.

The victim was taken to University Hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.

The driver of the car remains at-large.
