Police in East orange are investigating a shots fire investigation that connected on a female victim in the city on Friday night.
According to preliminary reports, gunfire rang out in the 100 block of South Harrison Street at approximately 11:30 p.m. sending police to the scene where they found a female suffering a gunshot wound at that location.
Police say EMS transported the victim to University Hospital where she suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.
Doctors treated the non-life threatening injury while police continued to investigate the motive for the shooting.
There were no arrests reported.
