A city woman accused of crashing into a fire truck this morning has been identified after seen fleeing the accident scene with a baby.
According to Jersey City spokeswoman Jennifer Morrill, the driver was identified as Bianca Lockett, 26, of Orient Avenue.
Police responded this morning to the intersection Kennedy Boulevard and Audubon Avenue where a green Mercury struck a fire truck that was responding to a report of a fire on Eastern Parkway with its lights and sirens activated.
A firefighter with rib injuries was transported to the Jersey City Medical Center-Barnabas Health, according to officials.
After further investigation, a witness at the scene identified Lockett, who according to the witness was with a baby and two other passengers, at the time of the crash. The witness was able to take a photo of Lockett and the other occupants as they boarded the NJ Transit 87 bus at Martin Luther King Drive and Stegman Street.
Lockett was found at her home and was notified that she will receive summonses for driving with a suspended license, leaving the scene of an accident, and failure to yield the right of way for an emergency vehicle.
Police also identified the vehicle owner as Lewis Shuler, who was also issued multiple summonses including uninsured vehicle and allowing an unlicensed individual to operate a motor vehicle.
