Police in Newark are investigating a domestic violence incident that left one person suffering a stab injury in Newark's East Ward overnight.
Details regarding the incident are developing, but according to preliminary reports from police, officers were called to a residence in the 20's block of Riverview Court at approximately 1 p.m. after they received reports of an injured person.
Emergency responder crews arrived at the scene and found a male victim suffering a stab wound at that location.
EMS transported the victim to University Hospital where Newark Police officials are reporting non-life-threatening injuries as of 4 a.m.
The mother of the victim reportedly stabbed the adult son after an altercation that ended in physical violence.
The incident remains under investigation.
