Woman Sought for Questioning in Newark Aggravated Assault Incident

The Newark Police Department is actively seeking the public's help in locating 47-year-old Tonia Oakes, who is currently wanted for questioning regarding her involvement in a serious incident.

Police said on Monday, November 20, an aggravated assault involving the pointing of a handgun occurred in the 400 block of Avon Avenue.

Detectives are now investigating the case and believe that Oakes could provide essential information.

She stands at 5'5" tall and weighs approximately 220 pounds. Her connection to the incident has prompted an urgent response from local law enforcement.

Director Fragé of the Newark Police has issued a call to action, urging anyone with information about Tonia Oakes' whereabouts to contact the Police Division's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).

The department assures that all tips received will be kept confidential and emphasizes that information leading to Oakes could be eligible for a reward.
