The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office has taken up the investigation into a shooting that killed a woman in Jersey City Friday night.
According to police, gunfire rang out in the vicinity of Martin Luther King and Bidwell around 8:30 p.m.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a severely injured, unconscious and unresponsive woman suffering gunshot wounds at that location.
Police said the victim was rushed to Jersey City Medical Center, where she died a short time later.
The motive for the shooting has not been determined at this time and no other injuries were reported.
