Police in Paterson are investigating a violent stabbing that left a young woman seriously injured early Sunday morning.
Authorities were called to the 100 block of East Main Street shortly before 4:30 a.m. after receiving reports of an injured person.
When officers arrived, they found a 21-year-old woman suffering from multiple stab wounds. She was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment.
Her condition was reported as serious as of around 5 a.m., officials said.
The motive behind the stabbing remains under active investigation. No arrests have been announced, and no additional information was immediately released.
