According to information released by the Newark Department of Public Safety, authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a woman wanted in connection with an auto theft that occurred early Saturday morning, July 19.
Officials say the incident took place around 5:40 a.m. in the area of South 6th Street near 13th Avenue.
A female suspect, seen pushing a baby stroller, allegedly approached a parked vehicle, attempted to open its doors, and gained access through an unlocked driver’s side door.
Once inside, the suspect reportedly stole several items including two cameras with lenses, a bottle of Hermès cologne, and a bag of clothing.

The total value of the stolen belongings is estimated at $1,715.
