Authorities in Newark are on the search for a suspect who is wanted for a violent attack on a woman on a Newark street on Saturday evening.
Police were called to the 100 block of University Avenue at around 8:10 p.m. to investigate reports of an armed robbery.
Units arriving on the scene found the adult female victim suffering non-life threatening injuries after she was approached by a black male who was armed with a gun and demanded personal possessions.
The suspect then began to beat the woman with the gun before he ran from the scene according to reports.
The woman was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
The suspect remains at-large.
