The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office is investigating a shooting that killed a woman in Paterson Sunday morning.
The preliminary investigation indicated that at approximately 1:17 a.m., police responded to the vicinity of 120 Butler Street after a ShotSpotter device activated and alerted them to a shooting.
Upon arrival, police an unconscious and unresponsive female suffering bullet wounds at that location.
According to police, the victim was administered CPR by emergency responders but was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police say one other victim suffered a non-life threatening injury and was transported to St. Joseph's Medical Center for treatment.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
During the overnight hours, Paterson reported several shooting incidents with multiple victims and no arrests.
