A woman lost her life and three other people, including a child, were injured in a three-vehicle crash Thursday morning on Route 23 in Franklin Borough, Sussex County, authorities said.

According to Franklin Borough Police, the collision occurred shortly after 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of Route 23 and Mabie Street.
Investigators said a northbound dump truck struck the driver’s side of a Ford SUV.
The impact forced the SUV into the southbound lanes, where it was then hit on the passenger side by a Toyota SUV.
The dump truck continued north before leaving the roadway, striking a utility pole and coming to rest in the backyard of a nearby home.
The woman driving the Ford SUV was pronounced dead. Her identity has not been released pending notification of family members.
A child riding in the Ford SUV and the driver of the Toyota SUV suffered serious injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment.
The dump truck driver sustained less severe injuries.
The crash also caused power outages at the intersection and in surrounding neighborhoods. Service has since been restored.
