Woman Injured in Jersey City Stabbing

Jersey City Police are investigating a stabbing incident that injured a woman in one of the city's neighborhoods on Thursday morning.

It happened at approximately 1:40 a.m. in the single-digit block of Lexington Avenue.

Police say they received reports of a seriously injured person and when officers responded, they found the female victim suffering stab wounds in her head and neck.

The victim was transported to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment and remain in stable condition.

Police detained one person in the vicinity of John F. Kennedy Boulevard and Communipaw Avenue according to reports.

There were no other injuries reported and the motive for the stabbing is under investigation.
