Police officials in Newark are looking into the possibility of a drug overdose that took the life of a woman found dead on a porch in a community in the city's upper West Ward early Saturday morning.
According to Newark Police officials, police officers found the 46-year-old woman unconscious and going unresponsive in the 100 block of Salem Street after residents dialed 911 after seeing her laying on the porch.
Officials say the woman -who is known to the neighborhood- was pronounced dead at the scene.
The State Regional Medical Examiners Office will make the final decision on what exactly caused the woman's death, but foul play is not suspected at this time according to police.
