Police set up a crime scene in the rear of a building after finding a female's body Thursday night.
A preliminary investigation indicated that at approximately 8:30 p.m., police were dispatched to 334 Roseville Avenue to investigate reports of an unconscious person.
Upon arrival, police found the unidentified woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not announced foul play and the investigation is in the early stages.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office was notified, but they have not announced involvement at this time.
