Police are on the scene investigating the circumstances behind a woman who jumped from a high-rise building in East Orange
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the 300 block of Harrison Street at around 8 am where arriving crews found an unconscious and unresponsive woman lying on the ground in the rear of the building.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene according to authorities.
Officials determined that the unidentified woman jumped from a 14-floor balcony of the building according to residents.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
