Woman Claims She Was Raped by a Man She Accepted a Ride from in Jersey City; Fourth Rape Incident Reported Citywide

According to a statement released by the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office, on Saturday, June 29th, at approximately 8:50 a.m., members of the Jersey City Police Department responded to a residence in Jersey City on a report of a sexual assault.

Authorities say, responding police officers received a report from a 25-year-old Jersey City woman that she was sexually assaulted shortly after 7:15 a.m.

According to authorities, the alleged sexual assault occurred at an unknown location in Jersey City after accepting a ride from an unidentified male as she traveled from Hoboken to her residence in Jersey City.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, Special Victims Unit, is actively investigating this case with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department. No arrests have been made at this time.
