West Orange Woman Files $5M Lawsuit Against Airline

West Orange New Jersey

A West Orange woman filed a lawsuit against an airline who she alleges failed to inform passengers that live television and Internet service was not available on all flights.

On March 13, Cary M. David filed a $5 million class action suit at the Newark federal court.

In the suit, David claims that United Airlines did not inform its passengers that services like WiFi and DirecTV  were not available in flights traveling outside the United States.

David on her February 21 flight, she  paid $7.99 to order DirecTV. However,  the satellite television service was only available in the last 10 minutes of the flight.

United Airline is requesting dismissal of lawsuit saying that before confirmation of a purchase for service, information regarding  service is displayed as well as in the airline's website.
