A late night search of a a neighborhood in the city's South Ward had police confiscate firearms in the city.
Police took two people into custody in the 90's block of Chadwick Ave. at around midnight after units searching the area reportedly located at least one weapon and other items.
The suspects was immediately transported to the city lockup.
An investigation is underway by the Newark Police Department.
