A 29-year-old Passaic man was arrested Sunday evening after allegedly threatening a resident with a knife during a dispute on Riverside Drive. According to information released by the Wayne Township Police Department, the incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on August 24, 2025.
Police said the confrontation began when the resident refused to let his daughter leave with the occupants of a vehicle that arrived to pick her up.
One of the passengers, identified as Kriss Rodriguez, reportedly stepped out holding a knife and threatened the father before fleeing in the vehicle.
Officer Spencer Schoonmaker intercepted the car on Route 80 East, where three occupants were detained. Rodriguez admitted to having the knife, which was later recovered from the glove compartment, police said.
Rodriguez was charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, aggravated assault, and terroristic threats.
Authorities also discovered he had several outstanding warrants. He was transported to the Passaic County Jail pending a detention hearing.
