An early morning crash that killed a 41-year-old Newark woman in Washington Heights New York has authorities invetsigating.
Police say around 4:30 a.m., a 1998 Honda Accord ran a red light when it approached the intersection of West 157th Street and Amsterdam Avenue, striking a 2008 Chevrolet Impala.
The Honda then hit an unoccupied vehicle parked on Amsterdam Avenue.
Both the driver and the passenger of the Honda Accord were taken to Harlem Hospital. The passenger was identified as 41-year-old Shawnique Hill, was pronounced dead. The driver suffered minor injuries, according to police.
The driver of the second car was uninjured.
The driver of the Honda Accord is reportedly in custody pending charges according to police.
