Police officials in Newark issued a warrant for the arrest of Mr. Sharod Fields, 52, of Newark, in connection with the May 8th, robbery of a woman 7-months pregnant at the time of the incident.

According to police, at approximately 11:30 a.m., the woman was walking with another woman and a child in the 400 block of Market Street when she was approached by a male who grabbed her neck in an attempt to steal her gold chain.
Police say the women struggled with the suspect, who punched the second victim in the face before he fled on foot.
Robbery detectives investigating this incident identified Fields as a suspect and secured a warrant for his arrest on charges of robbery and aggravated assault.
While police are actively searching for Fields, they request the public’s help in quickly locating him so he can be removed from our streets.
