Warrant Issued for Newark Man who Robbed Victim Then Stabbed him in the Stomach

Newark Police officials issued a warrant for the arrest of Mr. Elamin Muhammad, 43, of Newark, on charges of robbery, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose in an incident that occurred on Monday, July 1st.

According to a statement released by police, at approximately 3:30 p.m., officers responded to University Hospital on a call of a man who had been stabbed.

Officials say the victim was robbed in the 100 block of Evergreen Avenue by a man who stabbed him in the stomach before taking his personal property.

Detectives investigating this incident identified Elamin Muhammad as a suspect and secured a warrant for his arrest.

While police are actively searching for Muhammad, they seek the public’s help in quickly locating him so he can be removed from city streets.
