Warrant Issued for Man Wanted for Allegedly Punching Woman in Newark

Police in Newark are reporting that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Mr. Rahmon Johnson, 21 of Newark, who is wanted for an incident of assault that occurred on Wednesday, January 16th.

Police say they responded to a South Ward building on a call of an assault when they arrived to find a woman was struck with a closed fist by a man she knows following a quarrel.

Detectives investigating this incident identified Rahmon Johnson as a suspect in this incident and have secured a warrant for his arrest on charges of Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault and Criminal Mischief under the State’s Domestic Violence Laws according to police.

Police say Johnson is described as 5’9” tall,140 lbs., has a medium brown complexion, brown eyes and black hair.

While police are actively searching for Johnson, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing him from Newark streets.
