Good morning New Jersey. If you’re heading to the bus stop around 4:30 a.m., you’ll still want a warm coat, but it won’t feel nearly as harsh as the past few mornings.

Conditions today are a noticeable improvement from the frigid stretch we’ve endured earlier this week.

On the ground this morning, it’s 40 degrees near Chancellor Avenue and Bergen Street, and today is shaping up to be the pick of the week weather-wise.

Sunshine and calmer conditions will make it feel much more comfortable compared to yesterday and the last several days.

That said, enjoy it while you can. Late tonight into Friday, the weather turns stormy and unpleasant, with sweeping rain and strong winds expected to move through the region.

According to the National Weather Service, today will be sunny, with a high near 51 degrees. Winds will remain calm early, becoming southeast around 6 mph this afternoon.
