Good morning and happy Monday, New Jersey!
If you’re heading to work, school, or just getting an early start, you’ll notice a warmer and more humid feel compared to the beautiful stretch of weather we’ve enjoyed over the past few days. 
Temperatures in downtown Newark are sitting at 73 degrees this morning, and humidity is beginning to make a comeback across the region.
Elsewhere around the state, temperatures include 66 degrees in Morristown, 70 in Sussex County, and 72 degrees in Newark.
It’s a comfortable start, but you’ll definitely notice the increase in moisture as the day goes on.
Today’s weather won’t be a washout, but keep an umbrella handy. There will be periods of sunshine mixed with clouds, along with scattered showers and thunderstorms developing, especially during the afternoon.
Some storms could become heavy in isolated areas.
According to the National Weather Service:
Today: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2 p.m., then showers likely with the possibility of thunderstorms between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., followed by another chance of showers and storms after 5 p.m. Partly sunny with a high near 85 degrees. Calm winds becoming south at 5 to 8 mph during the afternoon. Chance of rain: 60%.
Tonight: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11 p.m., then a slight chance of showers after 5 a.m. Mostly cloudy with a low around 69 degrees. South wind around 5 mph. Chance of rain: 30%.
