Temperatures are already sitting around 65 degrees in downtown Newark as the day gets started.

While we’re expecting another warm day, it may not quite match the spring preview we experienced yesterday.

Still, it will feel much more comfortable compared to the bitter winter conditions we’ve dealt with in recent weeks.

Today’s temperatures are expected to run a bit cooler than yesterday, dropping roughly 10 to 11 degrees from the previous day’s highs, but they will still remain unseasonably warm for this time of year.

Residents can expect periods of sunshine through much of the day, though it may be wise to keep an umbrella nearby as scattered showers could develop later.

According to the National Weather Service, there is a 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after 2 p.m.

Otherwise, skies will be mostly sunny with a high near 81 degrees. Light southeast winds will become south at 6 to 11 mph during the morning.

Tonight, conditions turn more unsettled with a chance of showers and thunderstorms.
