We are waking up to a warm 77 degrees across Newark and the North Jersey region as unseasonably hot conditions set the stage for a record-challenging Thursday.

Good morning, New Jersey.
If you’re already out the door, you’re stepping into a truly summer-like start.
The air feels more like July than April, with mild early morning temperatures and comfortable conditions that won’t last long once the heat builds.
Heading to the bus stop or commuting to work, light clothing will be your best bet today. Temperatures are expected to climb quickly, with some areas pushing into the 90s under mostly sunny skies.
According to the National Weather Service, today will be mostly sunny with a high near 90 degrees and southwest winds between 5 and 11 mph.
Tonight, there is a slight chance of showers between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m., with increasing clouds and a low around 68 degrees.
Winds will shift from the southwest to the northwest overnight, and the chance of precipitation stands at 20 percent.
Stay cool, Jersey.
