Warm Start to the Day in Newark as Light Rain, Cooler Temps Move In

Newark

By: Richard L. Smith

Newark and the North Jersey region are waking up to a warm and pleasant morning, with temperatures hovering around 70 degrees as of 4:30 a.m.

Whether you're heading to work or taking the dog for a walk, it’s a comfortable start to the day—and in many spots, you likely won’t need a jacket.

In downtown Newark, skies are cloudy with a light breeze, and while it feels mild now, temperatures may dip slightly around sunrise as a cold front moves into the area.

According to the National Weather Service, there’s a slight 20 percent chance of light rain before 8 a.m., with weather radar showing some precipitation pushing in from the west.

Any showers that do pass through should be brief and limited.

As the morning progresses, skies are expected to gradually clear, leading to a mostly sunny afternoon with a high near 74 degrees.

Tonight will be mostly clear and cooler, with lows dropping to around 50.

Enjoy your day, New Jersey!
