Good morning, North Jersey! Happy Wednesday, and thanks for starting your day with us.
We are waking up to warm and humid conditions across the region this morning. It is currently 73 degrees in downtown Newark, making for a comfortable start if you’re heading out to the bus stop, work, or an early morning walk.
Temperatures around New Jersey early this morning include 61 degrees in Sussex County, 63 in Morristown, 63 in Somerville, 71 in Newark, and 70 degrees in Toms River.
While a few isolated showers are moving through parts of the region, most communities should remain dry for much of the day.
Expect a mix of sun and clouds with afternoon highs climbing into the lower to mid-80s.
As we head into the evening, the chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms will increase, so keep an umbrella handy if you have outdoor plans.
According to the National Weather Service, today will be partly sunny with a high near 84 degrees. Winds will remain light, becoming southeasterly at 5 to 7 mph during the afternoon.
Tonight will be mostly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms and a low around 73 degrees.
